College Programs

  • Acquaintance Rape — Myths about sexual assault run rampant in our society. Through this program, students become aware that almost 80% of sexual assaults are committed by someone the victim knows. This program will examine the myths surrounding sexual assault and increase awareness for safety.
  • Date Rape Drugs — Almost everyone has heard of Roofies and GHB, these are the two most prevalent date rape drugs on college campuses. However, what many people don’t realize is that there are many others. This presentation educates students about risks and effects of date rape drugs. The program will also address alcohol, the number one date rape drug on campus.
  • The Men’s Program — This program, developed by John Foulbert, is specifically designed for a male educator talking to an entirely male audience. We firmly believe this creates a more open dialogue about sexual assault and what men can do to help end this traumatizing phenomenon. The program gives men awareness about the effects of sexual assault and what they can do to help a friend who has been assaulted.
  • Tough Guise — This hour-long video is an in-depth examination into the psyche of men, and the media’s influence. Many pop culture video clips and references show how men’s behavior may be traced back to our culture’s obsession with violent males in the media.
  • Killing Us Softly — This half-hour video examines the effects of media advertising on women’s self-esteem and body image. The video is followed by a group discussion.
  • MVP — This program, developed by Jackson Katz for use with students, allows participants to role play witnessing different types of abuse, assault and harassment. Participants can look at their options to help these types of situations from happening or escalating to more extreme violence.
  • Sexual Harassment — This program teaches students about the corporate world’s sexual harassment policies by explaining to students what the definition of sexual harassment is through use of examples.
